About Maui Snorkeling
Snorkeling on Maui is easy and fun. Sea life abounds here and excellent spots pepper the Maui's coastline. You can expect to see a multitude of colorful fish including the Hawaii state fish the Humuhumu-nukunuku-a-pua'a (sounds like: hoo-moo-hoo-moo noo-koo-noo-koo ah puwa-ah ). For a large and colorful chart check out Digital Dreamers Reef Fish Chart. You may even see some Honu or Hawaiian Sea Turtles. These creatures though rare on land and stereotypically slow are quite fast in the water, so keep your eyes open. Remember when snorkeling off Makena, Wailea, Kihei, on the Way to Lahaina, or Kaanapali to be very careful and watchful as strong currents and large waves can effect your swim. Be sure to keep an eye on everyone in your party and never go snorkeling alone.
